GESS is a fiction writer of stories about women thriving. She is a graduate of the University of Washington (English and Spanish Lit BAs) and the University of Texas at Austin (Latin American Lit MA). She was the winner of the 2020 Yellow Bird Editors First Page contest and finalist in the 2025 Fugue Prose Contest and 2015 Writers’ League of Texas Manuscript Contest (Romance category). She is a member of Women’s Fiction Writers Association, the Armadillo Authors Society and Pen & Fork writers groups, Writers’ League of Texas, and Waco Calligraphy Guild.
