Celebrities

Posted on November 18, 2010April 20, 2012 by GESS

I’ve been thinking about celebrities.

Is it just me, or do famous people not think like the rest of us? That’s the only conclusion I can draw from their behavior.

Could we not have another actor fall in love with a costar? If a few weeks of working closely together is all it took to fall in love, everyone would be married to their coworkers. But us regular people, most of us don’t do that. Know why? ‘Cause we’re not stupid!

Could young celebrities not do every dumb, illegal, embarrassing foolishness out in public? I’m not saying to live the life of a cloistered nun until age 30. But embrace privacy. You may not know about common sense and how to use it. But discretion can be your friend.

Now you, professional athletes getting paid millions of dollars! Could you play hard all the time, every time? If you’re sick, tired, injured, or disgruntled with your teammates, coaches, and management let the second-string players play! Fans want skills, a competition, and good sportsmanship. If you don’t feel like giving us that, move over out of the way.

And last but not least, could the news media please, please, please stop reporting celebrity doings as headline news! Tell me what is happening in my community, my city, my country, my world FIRST. Follow it with the weather and sports, in that order. Save the celebrity gossip for last. Or better yet, leave it for celebrity-gossip shows, where it belongs.
