I have never been yachting in the Caribbean<\/p>\n
or on any sea for that matter<\/p>\n
to be perfectly honest.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Not in June or any month,<\/p>\n
have I had the pleasure–if it is a pleasure–<\/p>\n
of yachting in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I probably never will.<\/p>\n
You see,<\/p>\n
I love the sea.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Every ocean is alluring.<\/p>\n
Every crashing wave<\/p>\n
retreating<\/p>\n
pulls me in.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am more likely to be found<\/p>\n
diving in,<\/p>\n
falling in,<\/p>\n
sinking into its depths.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Just the smell of salt water<\/p>\n
puts my body on alert.<\/p>\n
My toes wriggle, groping<\/p>\n
for the feel of sand between them.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My skin prickles<\/p>\n
for the sting of sea water.<\/p>\n
My body aches<\/p>\n
to float on the high waves<\/p>\n
and to let them take me<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
out to the Bermuda Triangle,<\/p>\n
across to the Mediterranean,<\/p>\n
south to the Indian Ocean.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
That’s the thing with me.<\/p>\n
I want to be in <\/em>the sea;<\/p>\n wet and prickly,<\/p>\n getting pushed<\/p>\n and pulled about.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sitting on a yacht,<\/p>\n high and dry?<\/p>\n That sounds like torture to me.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
